ABOUT YOU
You are an accounting technician that likes participating into a large range of different tasks which will involve more than pure accounting. You are looking for a role that will offer you a challenge and allow you to leave your mark at MTY. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Sound like you? If so, MTY may be the place for you.
Daily tasks include:
  • Maintain the retail product database and ensure liaise with the accounting systems.
  • Register new product and create item codes, ensuring that all relevant details are captured accurately. This includes product names, descriptions, pricing and any other pertinent information.
  • Update product information as needed, such as price changes, product variations, or discontinuations.
  • Review & monitor accounting transactions. Collaborate with other departments to correct any discrepancies.
  • Calculate and enter month end accruals based on guidelines and policies.
  • Prepare month end lead sheets including supporting documentation for future referenceand audit purposes.
  • Perform regular data validation and reconciliation procedures to ensure the accuracy of accrual entries.
  • Assist the accounting analyst in any process improvements and documentation.
  • Assist in the month-end closing processes, through different tasks related to the Retail division. Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
  • DEC in accounting combined with minimum two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Fast learner, team player and ability to collaborate inter-departmentally
  • Ability to perform analysis involving a large volume of data
  • Ability to excel in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind
  • Able to problem solve and effective organizational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel including vlookup, pivot tables
  • Bilingualism (English and French) spoken and written required
  • Knowledge of Sage 300/ACPACC accounting software is considered an asset
