This position falls within the components Department and entails the preparation of components from sheet steel for use in the assembly departments.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
- Manufacture sheet metal components as per supplied drawings.
- Determine appropriate manufacturing sequences and work methods.
- Transfer layout to suit drawing requirement using a variety of measuring instruments and scribing tools.
Your profile and qualifications:
- Able to read technical drawings.
- Sound knowledge of suing a variety of machines such as power shear, press brake, rolling machine, drilling machine and/or CNC punching machines.
- Familiar with the operation of forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures.
- Capable of completing quality control documentation and able to verify that component meet quality requirements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Supervision of machine operator or labourer.
