Job Description:

Hexafusion IT Solutions is seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Cable Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of diverse copper and fiber optic cabling types. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct installation, termination, and testing of various cabling types including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
  • Install, maintain, and repair cable systems for commercial customers.
  • Perform cable terminations, splicing, and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with cable connections, signal quality, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Install and configure cable modems, routers, and other networking devices.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their cabling and infrastructure needs.
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights, particularly near ceilings or ceilings, using appropriate safety equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Work in diverse settings, ranging from commercial offices to industrial sites.
  • Document work and provide reports on completed projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry standards and advancements.

Requirements:

  • Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Minimum of 5 year of experience in cable installation and termination.
  • Proficiency in working with different cabling systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with low voltage systems and wiring.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Must possess basic required tools for the job.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and electrical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 day

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

  • Structured Cabling Specialist (SCS) Certification (preferred)
