The Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation was founded by Dr. Herbert Carnegie, a world-class professional hockey player who was prevented from ever playing in the NHL because of the colour of his skin. He created the Future Aces Foundation in 1987 to inspire and empower youth in his hometown of Toronto. The Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation welcomes applications for the position of Virtual Volunteer Board Member leading Fundraising initiatives such as grant proposals/submissions.
Our 34-year-old charity is in the midst of renewal, growth and deepening our impact in a virtual realm to reach more young people, educators and future leaders . This is an exciting time for us!

Board of Directors volunteers with experience in:
Education and Fundraising
Duties:
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the organization;
- Participate actively in board meetings and committee meetings;
- Collaborate with other board members to make decisions on key issues;
- Support the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan;
- Engage in fundraising activities to support the organization's mission;
- Represent the organization at community events and meetings
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor outreach and stewardship, project management, negotiation, leadership, process improvement or business development or operations management;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Knowledge of non-profit governance best practices;
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values
Please be prepared to present a strong portfolio of your ability to generate revenue within a non-profit environment.
As a Board Member, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise and leadership skills to help guide our organization towards achieving its goals. You will work closely with other board members to make strategic decisions to broaden our footprint, and widen our impact.
